I gave you the recipe for Homemade Baking Mix and it was a total winner. You can use it in place of any recipe where you normally use Bisquick.
But, how about a recipe for Cinnamon Roll Biscuits using the Baking Mix. We all liked them very much, and I even shared the recipe with my Sister-In-Law JoAnne.
These are so easy to make.
Cinnamon Roll Biscuits
- 5 1/2 cups Homemade Baking Mix
- 1 1/3 cup milk
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar or white sugar
- 2 Tablespoons cinnamon
Glaze
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2-3 Tablespoons milk
Combine Baking Mix and milk. Turn onto a well-floured surface and knead at least ten times (the dough will be sticky). Roll dough out into a rectangle.
Melt butter and brush over rolled out dough. Mix together cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle over melted butter. Roll up and cut into 12 rolls.
Place in a greased baking pan and bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
Mix glaze ingredients together and drizzle over Cinnamon Roll Biscuits as soon as they come out of the oven. Serve warm.
Notes:
I used Powdered Milk, just add the powder with the dry ingredients, and then add the water.
I also tried it with Cinnamon Sugar mix instead of brown sugar. Taste great either way.
The last time I made them I did NOT melt the butter. I just used room temp butter and spread it on the biscuit dough and then sprinkled the brown sugar over the top. So much easier, and no little pan to wash.
This is a money saver, but also a great recipe for storage items. I always say, "Store What You Eat, Eat What You Store"
